Location of Terihi |
Terihi is an uninhabited island in the eastern Pacific Ocean , geographically part of the Marquesas archipelago and politically part of the municipality of Hiva Oa in French Polynesia . It is a small side island of Mohotane with an area of 0.15 km² and is located 300 meters southeast of it. The rocky island, rising 245 meters from the sea, is hardly accessible because of the heavy surf and the steep coast. The flora is sparse, it consists mainly of the robust grass Eragrostis xerophila and the low growing nightshade family Nicotiana fragrans var. Fatuhivensis , an endemic to Fatu Hiva and Mohotane.
