Terje Breivik (born March 24, 1965 ) is a Norwegian politician of the socially liberal Venstre . He has been the second deputy chairman of his party since 2012 and has been a member of the Storting since 2013 .

Life

From 1987 to 2003, Breivik was a member of the Ulvik municipal parliament . He acted as mayor of the place between 1995 and 2001. From 2000 to 2012 Breivik served as general secretary of the Venstre party. He then became second vice chairman. In the same year he became world champion at the senior world championships in the freestyle discipline of ten kilometers of cross-country skiing.

Breivik entered the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2013 general election . There he represents the constituency of Hordaland and he was initially a member of the finance committee. After the 2017 election , he was also part of the Family and Culture Committee. Both memberships ended in January 2018 and Breivik switched to the Labor and Social Committee, where he remained until January 2020. Then he went over to the Control and Constitution Committee. In January 2018 he took over the post of chairman of the Venstre group.
