Terre Roche

Terre Roche (born April 10, 1953 in New York City , USA ) is an American singer-songwriter , teacher and author .

Life

In 1970 Terre Roche and her older sister Maggie (1951–2017) completed a song-writing course at New York University led by Paul Simon . Three years later the two sisters were involved as background singers on the recording of Simon's album There Goes Rhymin 'Simon and Paul Simon produced the first duo album by Maggie and Terre Roche in 1976.

From 1976 they formed the vocal group The Roches together with their youngest sister Suzzy (* 1956) . Terre Roche is a member of the Afro-Jersey band and has worked with Paul Simon, Philip Glass , Linda Ronstadt , Meredith Monk , Robert Fripp and Tracey Ullman, among others .
