Maggie Roche

Maggie Roche (born October 26, 1951 in Detroit , Michigan , USA ; † January 21, 2017 in New York City ) was an American singer-songwriter and actress .

Life

In 1970 Maggie Roche and her younger sister Terre completed a song-writing course at New York University led by Paul Simon . Three years later the two sisters were involved as background singers on the recording of Simon's album There Goes Rhymin 'Simon and Paul Simon produced the first duo album by Maggie and Terre Roche in 1976.

From 1976 they formed the vocal group The Roches together with their youngest sister Suzzy . In addition to and after the releases with The Roches , she recorded other albums with her sister Suzzy. Another solo album was released posthumously in 2018.
