Patrick Friedl (born August 28, 1970 in Rothenburg ob der Tauber ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). Since the state elections in Bavaria in 2018, he has been a directly elected member of the Bavarian state parliament for the district of Würzburg-Stadt . Here he is the spokesman for nature conservation and climate adaptation within his group .

Life

Friedl grew up as the son of socially liberal, Upper Bavarian parents in Rothenburg ob der Tauber , where he also passed his Abitur in 1989 at the Reichsstadt-Gymnasium there . He then did his community service at the Rothenburg District Hospital. His parents were both engaged as city councilors for the FDP . From 1990 to 1996 he studied law at the University of Bayreuth and at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . After passing the first state examination , he completed the legal preparatory service in Würzburg and Schweinfurt until 1998 . After passing the second state examination and being admitted to the bar , he worked as such in Rothenburg and Würzburg from 1999 to 2002. From 2002 to 2013 Friedl worked in the office of the Bundestag member Hans-Josef Fell , from 2014 to 2018 in the office of the Bundestag member Dieter Janecek . At the same time, from 2004 to 2007, he trained as a family counselor at the German Association for Youth and Marriage Counseling (DAJEB). From 2007 he worked as a family advisor at the Evangelical Advice Center (EBZ) in Würzburg.

Friedl became a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in 1996 . Since 1997 he has been a member of the Würzburg-Stadt district board. From 1999 to 2007 he was a member of the district board of the Green Lower Franconia, of which he has been a member since 2016. He has been a city ​​councilor in Würzburg since 2008 . In 2010 he founded the asylum group "PG Asyl". In 2015 he appeared as a plaintiff before the Bavarian Constitutional Court against the 10H rule . In 2016 he founded the “Grüner Platz am Theater” alliance, which won a referendum with over 70%. He is a member of the Federation of Nature Conservation in Bavaria , founder of the Climate Alliance Würzburg and the Friends of Refugees in Lower Franconia. He is also the first spokesman for the referendum “Climate protection in the constitution”.

In the state election in Bavaria in 2018 , Friedl ran as a direct candidate in constituency 610 (Würzburg-Stadt) . He received 29.9% of the first votes, won the direct mandate and thus prevailed against the CSU state parliament member Oliver Jörg . This makes him the only politician in his party who has won a direct mandate outside of Munich. In the state parliament he is a member of the committee for the environment and consumer protection and a member of the judges' election commission.

Patrick Friedl is an Evangelical Lutheran , has been married to a psychologist since 1998 and has a daughter (* 2012). He lives with his family in the Frauenland district of Würzburg .
