Oliver Jörg (born July 9, 1972 in Aalen ) is a German state politician ( CSU ). From autumn 2008 to October 2018 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .

Job and family

Oliver Jörg attended elementary school in Hüttlingen, Württemberg, between 1979 and 1983, and the Karl-Kessler-Realschule in Wasseralfingen from 1983 to 1989 . Afterwards he visited an advanced train in Latin, Greek and Hebrew in Rottweil and between 1990 and 1993 he made up his Abitur at the Bischöflichen Gymnasialkonvikt Rottweil.

After participating in a development aid project in Albania and completing community service with the workers' welfare organization in Aalen, he began studying law in 1995 at the University of Passau and the Catholic-Theological University in Linz , with a subject-specific foreign language training in Arabic . In 2000 he came to Würzburg , where he passed his first state examination in January 2002. He spent his legal clerkship at the regional court of Würzburg , the public prosecutor's office in Würzburg, the city of Würzburg, the government of Lower Franconia and a law firm. After his second state examination, he was admitted to the bar in July 2004. Since then he has been running his own law firm in Würzburg together with a partner.

Jörg has been Secretary General of the CSU-affiliated Hanns Seidel Foundation in Munich since the end of June 2019 .

Jörg is married and has three children.

Political party

Jörg began to get involved in politics during his studies in Passau. Between 1995 and 1997 he was first deputy chairman, later chairman of the Ring of Christian Democratic Students (RCDS) Passau and member of the student convention. In 1997 he was elected chairman of the RCDS Bavaria. His work in the student council introduced him to the Junge Union (JU) and the CSU. He became a member of the JU state committee, deputy JU Germany council and member of the state university committee of the CSU.

In 2002 he was elected chairman of the Würzburg-Sanderau JU branch. The following year he was elected chairman of the CSU Sanderau and in 2005 he was elected chairman of the CSU district association of Würzburg-Stadt.

MP

In October 2007 he was elected by a clear majority for the 2008 state election as the successor to Walter Eykmann as a direct candidate in the district of Würzburg-Stadt ( constituency of Lower Franconia ). In the election on September 28, 2008, he prevailed with 40.5 percent of the first votes and entered the Bavarian state parliament for the first time in October 2008. In the state election on October 14, 2018, he lost his direct mandate.

He is an honorary member of the Catholic student union KDStV Cheruscia Würzburg in the CV . He is a member of the advisory board of the German-Arab Society .
