The Terrier Brasileiro is a Brazilian dog breed recognized by the FCI ( No. 341, Gr. 3, Sec. 1 ) since 2007 .

Origin and history

Jack Russell Terriers , Chihuahuas and Pinschers are believed to be the ancestors of this breed of dog . In 1995 the Terrier Brasileiro was provisionally recognized by the FCI.

description

The Terrier Brasileiro is a small (up to 40 cm) and at approx. 10 kg light terrier with short, straight hair, three-colored, white with black, red-brown or blue markings and small, crooked ears that are typical for terrier.

The tail lengths of different lengths from birth are also typical. Some animals have a full tail, some a half-long stub and some only a rudimentary approach.

The fur is velvety soft and has no undercoat.

Terrier-typical, lively, medium-sized dog , active, bright, friendly and trusting, also a useful watchdog because of its yapping.

use

Family dog, also very suitable for dog sports enthusiasts, e.g. B. Agility, Fly-Ball, very good companion on the horse
