Territorial parks in the Yukon

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article provides an overview of the currently four (as of September 2019) Territorial Parks in the Canadian Yukon Territory . Unlike most other Canadian provinces, the provincial parks in the Yukon are referred to here as Territorial Park (English) or Parcs territoriaux (French).

In addition to the existing parks, the establishment of four more parks is being pushed ahead. The new parks have already passed through at least the first stage in the process and are already subject to increased protection. The Dàadzàii Vàn Territorial Park is in the final stages of establishment.

The parks are managed by Yukon Parks , an agency of Environment Yukon . The current legal basis for the parks is the Parks and Land Certainty Act (RSY 2002, c.165) of 2002.
