Territorial Parks in the Northwest Territories
This article provides an overview of the Territorial Parks in the Canadian Northwest Territories . The provincial parks in the Northwest Territory are, unlike most other Canadian provinces, referred to as Territorial Park .
The parks are administered by Northwest Territories Parks , which is part of the Northwest Territories Industry, Tourism and Investment . The current legal basis for the parks is the Territorial Parks Act (RSNWT 1988) of 1988.
In addition to the Territorial Parks, there are other protected areas in the Northwest Territories, including a. five Canadian national parks (the Aulavik National Park , the Naats'ihch'oh National Park , the Nahanni National Park Reserve , the Tuktut Nogait National Park and the Wood Buffalo National Park ).
