Terence "Terry" Neilson (born November 2, 1958 in Toronto ) is a former Canadian sailor .
successes
Terry Neilson took part in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles in the Finn-Dinghy boat class . He finished third with 37.7 points behind Russell Coutts , who got 34.7 points, and John Bertrand , who finished the regatta 0.7 points ahead of Neilson. At world championships in 1982 Neilson won the title in a laser in Porto Cervo , two years later he secured the silver medal in the Finn dinghy in Anzio . In 1979, he won the laser gold medal at both the open European championships and the Pan American Games in San Juan .
In 1987 he was the skipper of the Canadian yacht Canada II at the Louis Vuitton Cup .
