Testacealobosia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The division of living beings into systematics is a continuous subject of research. Different systematic classifications exist side by side and one after the other. The taxon treated here has become obsolete due to new research or is not part of the group systematics presented in the German-language Wikipedia.

The Testacealobosia were a taxon of amoeba within the tubulinea . In addition to the relatively extensive group of Arcellinida , it comprised only one other genus, after which the Testacealobosia were synonymous with the Arcellinida.

features

All species are amoeba and have an enclosure that encloses the entire cell , including the cell membrane . The case almost always has one clearly recognizable opening, rarely several. Sexual reproduction has not yet been conclusively proven, but meiosis has been observed in at least one species .

Systematics and research history

The Testacealobosia were first described by Henri De Saedeleer in 1934 . In addition to the Arcellinida, the group contains only one other genus, the exact placement of which was unclear. After the genus turned out to be part of the Flabellinia , the taxon was synonymous with the Arcellinida.

The group included:
