Tetronarce tremens has the somewhat wider than long disc shape , which is typical of the torpedo genus , consisting of the body and pectoral fins, and reaches a length of 70 cm. The top is gray, the bottom white.

Way of life

Tetronarce tremens lives in subtropical areas mostly in very shallow water, in tropical climates such as off Peru you can see them at depths of up to 700 m. Like most members of the family, she hunts smaller fish and mollusks, which she stuns with blows of up to 45 volts with the help of her electroplaxis and then consumes them. The electrical organ is also used for defense. Like all electric rays, the species is ovoviviparous .
