Tetsuo Okamoto

Tetsuo Okamoto (born March 20, 1932 in Marília , São Paulo , † October 1, 2007 ibid) was a Brazilian swimmer of Japanese descent.

At the 1952 Summer Olympics , he won the bronze medal in 1,500-meter freestyle swimming behind the American Ford Konno and the Japanese Shiro Hashizume . He was the first Brazilian swimmer to win a medal at the Olympic Games. He made it to the semi-finals on the 400-meter freestyle course.
