Ford Konno
Ford Hiroshi Konno (born January 1, 1933 in Honolulu ) is a retired American swimmer .
His career as a swimmer lasted from 1951 to 1956. At the Summer Olympics in Helsinki in 1952 he was Olympic champion in the 1500 m freestyle and with the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay . In the 400 m freestyle he had to admit defeat to Jean Boiteux and won silver. Four years later he won the silver medal again with the US relay at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne .
In 1972 he was inducted into the international swimming pool 's hall of fame .
