Yevgeny Viktorovich Sadovy
Yevgeny Wiktorowitsch Sadowy ( Russian Евгений Викторович Садовый ; born January 19, 1973 in Wolschski ) is a former Russian swimmer .
At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona , he won three gold medals in swimming. In the same year he was voted World Swimmer of the Year . Already at the European Swimming Championships in 1991 he was over 400 m freestyle and European champion with the Russian 4 × 200 m freestyle relay. A year later at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, he became Olympic champion in the 200 m freestyle, 400 m freestyle and the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay. Over 400 m freestyle and with the relay he also set new world records .
He ended his career in 1996 at the age of 23. In 1999 he was inducted into the international swimming pool 's hall of fame .
In 1991 he was Soviet champion, in 1992 CIS champion and in 1993 and 1994 Russian champion (200 m and 400 m).
