Todd Pearson

Todd Robert Pearson (born November 11, 1977 in Geraldton , Western Australia ) is an Australian swimmer who specializes in freestyle .

He grew up in Perth , where he started swimming on the advice of a doctor because he suffered from asthma.

At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney Pearson won the gold medal with the 4 × 200-meter freestyle relay. He also started for the Australian 4 × 100 m freestyle relay in the preliminary run.

At the 2001 World Cup , he won the gold medal in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay. He also won two more gold medals at the World Short Course Championships: 1999 in Hong Kong with the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay and in 2002 in Moscow with the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay.

At the 2004 Olympic Games he was sixth again with the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay. After this event he resigned from swimming.

Today Pearson lives in Austin , Texas , USA , he is married and has one son.
