Frederick Tyler

Frederick Daniel "Fred" Tyler (born March 15, 1954 in Winter Park , Florida ) is a retired American swimmer .

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , he won gold with the US 4 × 200 m freestyle relay. In the individual 200 m freestyle discipline, he reached the final, but was only fifth there.

Fred Tyler trained at Indiana University under James Counsilman and won the NCAA 200m freestyle title in 1975 .
