Henry Taylor (swimmer)
Henry Taylor (born March 17, 1885 in Oldham , Greater Manchester , † February 28, 1951 ) was a British swimmer .
He celebrated his first major international success at the Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens in 1906 , when he won the gold medal over 1500 m. Two years later he was able to repeat this triumph at the 1908 Olympic Games . He also won the gold medal with the British 4 × 200 m relay at these games. At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 he won the bronze medal with the British 4 × 200 m relay.
His last participation in the Olympic Games dates back to 1920. With his successes he is the most successful British swimmer at the Olympic Games. In 1969 he was inducted into the international swimming pool 's hall of fame .
