Kusuo Kitamura
Kusuo Kitamura (Japanese 北 村 久 寿 雄 , Kitamura Kusuo ; born October 9, 1917 in Kōchi , Kōchi Prefecture ; † June 6, 1996 ) was a Japanese swimmer .
At the age of 14, he was the youngest swimmer ever to become an Olympic champion . At the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , he won the gold medal in the 1,500 m freestyle. In 1965 he was inducted into the international swimming pool 's hall of fame .
