George Hodgson
George Hodgson (born October 12, 1893 in Montreal , † May 1, 1983 ) was a Canadian swimmer .
He won the gold medal in both the 400m and 1500m freestyle at the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 . Until his death, he was the only Canadian to become Olympic swimming champion. In 1984, Alex Baumann and Victor Davis were two Canadians who won. In his three years active as a swimmer, he remained undefeated. This is partly thanks to his own swimming style.
