Josh Davis (born September 1, 1972 in San Antonio , Texas ) is a former American swimmer and three-time Olympic champion.

He entered the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and was able to win three gold medals with the US swimming relay team. Four years later at the Summer Olympics in Sydney he was the captain of the US swim team and won two silver medals with the relays.

After Davis became the fastest swimmer in San Antonio, he was awarded a scholarship to study at the University of Texas . He was inducted into the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame on February 15, 2008 .

In February 2009, four of his Olympic medals were stolen from his car after he returned from a swim clinic in St. Louis . He then offered a reward for their return. He had already lost one of the two silver medals two years earlier and never found it again. On February 13, the medals were found by a cleaning team outside the Salvation Army 's Boys and Girls Club . They were returned to Davis that same evening.

Davis currently lives in San Antonio, where he runs a swimming clinic and also works as a motivational speaker. He and his wife Shantel have six children.
