Tetsuya Tanaka ( Japanese 田中 哲 也 , Tanaka Tetsuya ; born July 27, 1971 in Nagasaki Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Tanaka learned to play soccer on the school team at Kunimi High School . He signed his first contract with Nippon Steel (Nippon Steel Yawata) in 1990 . In 1992 he moved to the first division club Sanfrecce Hiroshima . For the club, he completed 15 first division games. In 1994 he was runner-up in the J1 League with the club . In 1995 he moved to the second division Vissel Kobe . For the club he completed 15 games. In 1996 he moved to the league competitor Tosu Futures (today: Sagan Tosu). For the club he completed 67 games. At the end of 1998 he ended his career as a football player.
