Teucrium microphyllum is a plant type from the genus germander ( Teucrium ) in the family of Labiatae (Lamiaceae).

description

Teucrium microphyllum is a dwarf shrub with heights of growth of 5 to 40 cm. Its stems are thin and young with gray or white tomentose hair . The leaves are about 5 mm long and lanceolate to ovate and pointed. The leaf margin is notched or serrate. The underside of the leaf is hairy white tomentose.

The inflorescence is rather loose, the false whorls consist of two flowers . The lower bracts are foliage-like, the upper ones are smaller and have entire margins. The calyx has a length of 6 to 7 mm and is hairy both downy and glandular. The calyx teeth are about 1/2 to 3/4 as long as the calyx tube, they are triangular and pointed. The pink colored crown is 10 to 12 mm long and shaggy hairy.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 30.

Occurrence and locations

The species is distributed from the southern Aegean Sea to southwestern Turkey and grows in rocky locations.
