The Teutoburger Energie Netzwerk eG is an energy cooperative based in Hagen am Teutoburg Forest south of Osnabrück in Lower Saxony.

organization structure

The organs of the cooperative are the board of directors, the supervisory board and the general assembly . Its legal basis is the cooperative law and the statutes issued by the general assembly. The general assembly consists of the cooperative members, each with one vote. It elects the supervisory board, which in turn appoints the management board.

history

Citizens of the Teutoburg region, farmers, craftsmen and merchants founded electricity cooperatives in Bad Laer , Glandorf , Hagen aTW between 1920 and 1922 . and Hilter aTW . A self-help in order to safely supply the members and the population with electricity, since the then Niedersächsische Kraftwerke AG was not ready to supply the rural areas with energy. For more than 80 years it has been possible to build, maintain and expand a powerful power supply network.

On January 1, 2000, the municipalities' electricity cooperatives merged to form a joint company: The Teutoburger Energie Netzwerk eG - TEN. The aim: to strengthen the competitive position of the individual electricity cooperatives on the liberalized energy market, to maintain the cooperative structures and to secure appropriate reimbursements for the members.

TWG - Teuto-Wind Glandorf GmbH & Co KG

Since January 2004, Teuto-Wind Glandorf GmbH & Co. KG (TWG) has been operating a wind farm in Glandorf with three wind turbines and a turbine output of 1,500 kW each.

Social Commitment

The Teutoburger Energie Netzwerk eG is strongly committed to the region south of Osnabrück in the areas of youth sports, education and social issues. In the field of education, the energy lessons given by Teutoburger Energie Netzwerk eG in primary schools are very important.
