Teutonia Landsweiler-Reden (full name: Football Club Teutonia 08 Landsweiler-Reden eV ) was a sports club from Schiffweiler in Saarland . The first soccer team played for a year in the then second-class Regionalliga Südwest .

history

The club was founded on May 1, 1908 as FC Borussia Landsweiler . A year later it was renamed FC Teutonia 08 Landsweiler-Reden . After another renaming in 1919, the club was now called SV Landsweiler-Reden . In 1945 the association was dissolved. All of the local sports clubs joined forces as OSV Landsweiler-Reden . On June 17, 1952, the prewar name was adopted again.

The club celebrated its greatest successes in the 1960s. In 1962, Teutonia rose to the 2nd Saarland Amateur League, before making it into the Saarland Amateur League in 1967 . The team immediately became champions in 1968 and made it to the Regionalliga Südwest. As the bottom of the table, the direct relegation followed. Since their own stadium was not suitable for the regional league , the team had to play their home games in Sulzbach .

Teutonia was able to hold onto the amateur league for a few years before it crashed into the district league in 1976 and the district league a year later. After the immediate resurgence, he was promoted to the national league in 1984. Two years later, Teutonia merged with DJK Blau-Weiß Landsweiler-Reden to form FC 08 Landsweiler-Reden . The first and second teams of the merged club will form a syndicate with the neighboring FSG Schiffweiler from the 2015/16 season under the name SG 08 Schiffweiler / Landsweiler-Reden . The first team to play in the FSG stadium is currently (as of the 2018/19 season) in the eight-class Landesliga Nord, while the reserve team plays in the Neunkirchen district league. The junior teams continue to play under the name FC 08 Landsweiler-Reden .
