The Tews-Kate in Malente in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein is the oldest smokehouse in Ostholstein. It is located in a wooded area in the north-west of Malente. The name of the Kate goes back to the family name of the last residents.

It is a single-storey timber-framed building with whitewashed compartments , the one - deep down drawn on the long sides - Reet -gedecktes gable roof has; the gables are covered with boards in the upper area. On the front of the cottage there is a large, double-winged entrance door, on the long sides of the cottage there are some small windows.

The construction of the cottage is dated to 1634; An extension used as a weaving room was added later. The cottage was used as a residential building until 1967. The cottage was originally located near the market square in Malente. Since the property was to be built on elsewhere, the cottage was dismantled and rebuilt in 1969 at its current location.

The cottage is a listed building and is one of the sights of Malente. It is used as a local museum, in which old furniture as well as household and agricultural equipment and tools are exhibited.
