Home association Eutin
The Heimatverband Eutin was a local history association based in Eutin in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein .
The association was founded on October 29, 1966 in Eutin (then Eutin district ) as the “Association for the care and promotion of local history in the Eutin district”. After the Eutin and Oldenburg districts were merged to form the Ostholstein district in 1970 , the association was renamed the Eutinian Association for the Care and Promotion of Local History . It dissolved on December 31, 2016.
Sphere of activity
The association concentrated in its work in particular on the southern part of the Ostholstein district and its predecessors:
- Principality of Lübeck
- Principality of Lübeck
- Eutin district
- Prehistory and early history of the area.
The reason for this focus was the historical and political development of the southern district area , which until 1937 was separate in large parts of Holstein and Schleswig-Holstein .
Tasks and activities
The task of the association included the promotion and maintenance of local history for the residents of the Ostholstein district - especially in the southern part - u. a. by supporting the protection and preservation of monuments , holding lectures, excursions, supporting museums and the publication of local history writings.
The association was committed to the signage of archaeological monuments (e.g. information board at the Katzburg ) and buildings, the repair of cultural assets (e.g. crucifix of the church of St. Laurentius (Süsel) , altar of the church of St. Michaelis -Kirche (Eutin) ), gave grants for publications and projects and called for fundraising.
Memberships
- Member of the Schleswig-Holstein Heimatbund .
- It existed since 2000/2001 reciprocal membership with the association Oldenburgische landscape and the Association for History in the district of Birkenfeld eV
The home association Eutin was a partner in the Eutin Festival .
