The Texaco Massachusetts was a US flag oil tanker .

The ship was built in 1963. Texaco Shipping was the owner. The tanker was 184.1 m (604 ft ) long.

The Texaco Massachusetts collided on June 16, 1966 in the Kill Van Kull near Manhattan with the naphtha- laden tanker Alva Cape . Around 1,300 tons of petrol and naphtha were released. About 100 people were on board the Texaco Massachusetts , three of them perished.

A total of 37 fatalities and 71 injured were to be mourned in the accident in the port.

After the accident, the Texaco Massachusetts was repaired and put back into service. In June 1990 the tanker was renamed to Star Massachusetts and in July 1995 to Massachusetts , before the ship arrived in September 1995 for scrapping at Soft Touch Cosmetic Marketing in Alang.
