Thuringian Literature Prize
The Thuringian Literature Prize was awarded by the Thuringian Literary Society until 2009 . V. and the energy service provider Thuringian Energy . The Thuringian Ministry of Education, Science and Culture and the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung Hessen-Thüringen of the Sparkassen- und Giroverband Hessen-Thüringen have held the literature prize since 2011 . The Thuringian Literature Council takes on all organizational tasks.
The award is intended to specifically honor contemporary authors who come from Thuringia , live there or whose works have a Thuringian connection. It is awarded every two years and is endowed with 12,000 euros (as of 2019). The award winners are selected by an independent jury of three.
