Thais Russomano (born September 25, 1963 in Porto Alegre , Rio Grande do Sul ) is a Brazilian aeronautical and aerospace physician .

She studied medicine at the University of Pelotas from 1985 and then did her master's degree in aviation medicine at Wright State University and finally received her PhD in aerospace medicine at King's College London in 1998 .

She teaches at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul and at the Center of Human & Aerospace Physiological Sciences at King's College London and is a visiting scholar at the German Aerospace Center .

In 1999 she founded the first Latin American Microgravity Center at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul.

In addition to her professional work, Russomano is a consultant for Mars One .
