history

With Ekkehart de Tanne , the place appears for the first time in the documents around 1090. This family de Tanne had their noble seat next to the Nikolauskirche on the hill. From 1506 the Hofmark Thann belonged to the Barons von Puech ( M. Wening 1720). Thereafter the place changed hands in quick succession (1727 Freiherrn Freyberg, 1728 Widnmann, 1736 Rufini, 1826 Hirsch, 1835 Duke Max in Bavaria ). 1818 Hofmark was repealed and replaced by the municipality edict of the Kingdom of Bavaria the newly created municipality Matzbach incorporated. With her, Thann came to Lengdorf on May 1, 1978.

On June 20, 1887, the Royal Bavarian State Railways opened the Thann-Lengdorf stop on the Munich – Simbach line east of Thann , which has been called Thann-Matzbach since 1900 . From 1900 until its closure in 1991, the Thann-Matzbach – Haag railway branched off at Thann-Matzbach station .

Filial church of St. Nicholas

Nikolauskirche, Thann

The St. Nikolaus branch church is a small baroque hall building with four axes and a three-eighth corner , which was probably built around 1685. Around 1746 the church was restored in the Rococo style . The tower, whose onion end was reconstructed in 1989, is set on the west side . The choir altar dates from 1721, in the altar sheet St. Nicholas is depicted with three boys and two soldiers. The seven votive tablets from 1741 to 1794 indicate that a pilgrimage was once passed .
