history

In the midst of the old Bamberg estates Schlinding, Kneisting and Traxenberg, which can be traced back to 1270, Thanberg, which for a long time was of little importance, emerged . In 1873 there were six houses here, according to a description from 1878 the place consisted of five scattered residential buildings with 45 residents and an inn with a butcher's shop.

In 1906 there were eleven scattered houses with 52 residents in the village. From 1930 to 1931, the St. Hartmann Church was built as a branch church of Eging according to the plan by architect Michael Kurz . It has a cross from the Renaissance period . In 1949 the Thannberg branch was raised to the position of Expositur . In 1989 there were 537 Catholics in the exposition.

In 1952 the actual Thannberg had 70 inhabitants, now there are 262. Since 1990 the new industrial area of the municipality Thurmansbang has been built east of Thannberg. The decisive factor for this development was the convenient location between the towns of Thurmansbang and Eging, directly on the FRG 33 road, which continues in the direction of the federal motorway 3 .
