Thansweet

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thansüß is a district of the Freihung market .

Thansüß developed in the 14th century from the name of a forest, the "Geyletann" south of Schickenhof. The name was first mentioned in 1364, in the "Neuböhmichen Salbuch" by Emperor Karl IV. In 1897, a large part of the village was destroyed by a devastating fire.

On the eastern edge of the village, the Thansüß community built a schoolhouse in 1960 that was used by both denominations. Since the school was closed, the building has served the local rifle club as a clubhouse and the Thansüß volunteer fire department as a fire station .

The Thansüß stop on the Neukirchen – Weiden railway line is served by individual trains.
