"The neck dish at Kaltenbrunn, that goes to (...) from then the Ödenried into Elbarter Unterrmark (...)"

On March 1, 1437 Elbart was sold together with the Lobenhof near Sulzbach-Rosenberg from the property of Albrecht von Freudenberg and his sons Rupprecht and Ulrich to the City Council of Weiden for the foundation of a mass and sermon in the parish church of St. Michael . The mayor and the council of Weiden then exercised the lower jurisdiction in Elbart.

By the first Bavarian municipal edict, Elbart was assigned to the Seugast tax district in 1808 .

On January 1, 1972, Elbart was incorporated as part of the Seugast community together with parts of the Großschönbrunn community and the Thansüß community after Freihung.
