Tharsander

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tharsander is the pseudonym of the Protestant pastor Georg Wilhelm Wegner (born September 5, 1692 in Oranienburg , Kurbrandenburg; † August 16, 1765 in Germendorf , Brandenburg-Prussia). He is certainly not part of the first guard of the Enlightenment, but as a tireless reader and commentator of the great minds of his time (his private library contains over 1000 volumes, including works by Christian Wolff and Leibniz ), he leaves a lot of noteworthy in his own works Memorable.

For example, under the title “The Vampyren and the Smacking Dead” he deals with superstition and especially with vampirism . For this purpose, there are various titles in his library that deal with it.

A large part of his library is still preserved and accessible. Information about this is available in the museum of the St. Nikolai community in Berlin-Spandau . As a reminder, the Tharsanderweg on the Grimnitzsee in Berlin-Wilhelmstadt has been named after him since 1972 .
