That's How You Know is a song from the 2007 film Verwünscht . It was written by Alan Menken (music) and Stephen Schwartz (text). It is used in the film when Giselle and Robert talk about their different views on love in the park. It will be sung by Amy Adams , who plays Giselle. In the German version the song is called How do you show your love? and is sung by Kerstin Heiles .

Stephen Schwartz said in an interview that the song was a nod to songs like Under the Sea and Be Our Guest . Alan Menken agreed in a follow-up interview that he saw something of Belle (from Beauty and the Beast ) in it. However, he doesn't see the connection to Under the Sea that much.

Awards

That's How You Know was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Song category and the Golden Globe in the Best Movie Song category . The song was also nominated for a Grammy for Best Song Written for Film, Television or Visual Media , for the OFTA Award for Best Song, and for the Critics' Choice Award for Best Song .

Cover versions

That's How You Know was introduced by Kristin Chenoweth at the 2008 Academy Awards . However, this met with astonishment and it was expressed displeasure that Amy Adams was passed over.

Demi Lovato and Dannii Minogue covered the song as part of various Disney projects .
