The Almond (English for Die Almond ) is a completely snow-free mountain range in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located west of The Pyramid formation on the western flank of the Koettlitz Glacier and separates the two strands of the Pyramid Trough .
Participants in a campaign from 1960 to 1961 as part of New Zealand's Victoria University's Antarctic Expeditions named it after its shape, which is reminiscent of an almond.
