The Pyramid ( English for The Pyramid ) is a small, yet striking mountain peak in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Royal Society Range, it rises on the west side of the Koettlitz Glacier .
Participants in the Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) led by British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott named it after its characteristic shape. The summit gave its name to the neighboring Pyramid Trough , a basin, and the Pyramid Ponds in it , which are part of the river system of the Alph River .
