The Babys were a British rock band .
history
The group was founded in 1975 by John Waite and Michael Corby in London . It consisted of John Waite (vocals, bass), Walter Stocker (guitar), Tony Brock (drums) and Michael Corby (guitar, keyboard). In 1979 the album Head First appeared , in which Michael Corby was no longer involved. In 1980, Ricky Phillips (bass) and Jonathan Cain (keyboard) joined the band for the album On the Edge .
In 1989 Waite, Phillips and Cain reunited in the band Bad English , which only lasted two years. Jonathan Cain went back to the US rock band Journey , where he had been keyboardist before Bad English was founded. Ricky Phillips turned to various projects and in 1997 played the lead role in a short film ("HT's Song"). In 2003 he joined the US band Styx, replacing co-founder Chuck Panozzo .
The original babies Michael Corby and Walter Stocker withdrew from the music industry, Tony Brock stayed in show business and founded Rockin 'Hoarse Studios in Los Angeles in 2004. John Waite was also successful as a solo artist.
