description

Construction of 5 Beekman began in January 2014. The tower was originally supposed to be 181 meters high with a total of 45 floors. The official height was later revised, The Beekman should now be 209 meters to the top and count a total of 47 floors.

The Beekman Hotel & Residences is primarily designed as a residential tower. A total of 68 luxury residential units are to be built. Due to the increasing demand for hotel rooms in the heart of Lower Manhattan , 287 hotel apartments will also be available. The building was designed by GKV Architects. Since The Beekman is a direct extension of the famous Temple Court Building, the design was carefully chosen. Two spiers on the roof of the building are intended to signal the architectural affiliation with the temple.

The final height was reached in early November 2015 when the second spire was installed. The Beekman was officially completed at the end of September 2016.

The building is not the as Beekman Tower known 8 Spruce Street to be confused, which is located in the immediate vicinity.
