The Bitter End is a nightclub in New York City in the Greenwich Village district of Manhattan .

It was opened in 1961 by Fred Weintraub . In the early 1960s the club hosted an open mic folk night every Tuesday with many artists who later became legend. In its heyday it was the stage for a wide range of talented and famous musicians and actors.
