reception

Michaela Putz from the e-magazine laut.de awarded 3 out of 5 points and describes the album as “paralyzing”, “gloomy” and “fatalistic”. The instruments, the vocals and the choirs “create the right atmosphere” and “make the story appear more real”, the songs are “sluggish and tough”.

Powermetal.de describes the album as “dark, threatening, dramatic and tragic”, with “slow, evocative rhythms and an anything but life-affirming atmosphere”. The album is "a real treat for the Doom community in terms of atmosphere alone" and "the tracks are all very impressive in themselves". The lack of variety is criticized. "The approach is the same for almost all seven overlong compositions".

On metal.de it is said that the "tough, dark sound sets the scene on the gloomy sea appropriately". The band is "relatively catchy" and is " stylistically closer to bands like SHAPE OF DESPAIR or SKEPTICISM [...] than more traditional formations like THERGOTHON or UNHOLY ".

The online magazine Stormbringer.at , however, gave a more negative assessment and only awarded 2.5 out of 5 possible points. It is said that “drums, deep guitars and extremely brutal vocals manage to create an unpleasant and threatening atmosphere without any problems”, but one should have “worked on the songs longer”. The voice is "made worse with numerous effects" and the "ultra-deeply grunted vocals destroy more than they do well". The album is "a bulky, difficult-to-access work for Funeral Doom purists".
