The Charles Hotel Munich is a 5-star Superior - Hotel in the district Maxvorstadt in Munich (Sophienstraße 28). It was built in 2007 at the Old Botanical Garden near the main train station . The operator is Rocco Forte & Family (Munich) GmbH , which is part of the British group of Rocco Forte Hotels . The hotel is part of the Lenbach Gardens . The hotel offers 160 guest rooms, including 24 suites , seven conference areas, a large ballroom for 280 people, an Italian restaurant , a bar and a swimming area .

The eight-storey building in Art Deco style was designed by the Berlin architects Hilmer & Sattler und Albrecht . Construction began on June 1, 2005, and was completed on July 1, 2007.
The project developer was Frankonia Eurobau AG . The interior construction was in the hands of Markus-Diedenhofen Interior Design (Reutlingen). The architecture was awarded the Villegiature Award for the “best hotel architecture in Europe” in 2008 and the “German Natural Stone Prize” with the title “Special Recognition” from the German Natural Stone Association (Würzburg) in 2009.
