It comes on a scope of two seasons with 10 episodes each, so 20 episodes in total, since the BBC announced after this broadcast that it would not continue the series. While the series was shown on BBC One in the daytime program, the series was broadcast in the evening program when it was first broadcast in German by ZDFneo.

Jane Kennedy returns to Lighthaven as a local coroner. She works with Davey Higgins, a detective sergeant in the South Dart Police Department, with whom she had a relationship when she was young. They are jointly investigating violent or inexplicable deaths in the South Hams district of South Devon.
