location

The Greuther handicraft is located in a bay between the protruding Abtswinder Altenberg and the Casteller Schlossberg . The vines enjoy a particularly favorable microclimate here in the warm south and west slopes . Nutrient- rich Keuper soils and the sheltered, warm location lead to good growth and ripening conditions and shape the character of the wines from "Greuther Craft".

history

As early as 1266 , the Casteller Counts mentioned vineyards on the Greuther Berg in old documents. The vineyards were created in their current form in the land consolidation from 1966 to 1970 . Since 1971 the official name of the location is "tinkering". This is a short form of Sebastian and goes back to the field name "Crafts field" used in historical maps.

Wine

The different orientations of the vineyards result in a variety of wines at the “handicraft”, ranging from solid quality wines to individual and expressive top wines. The character of these wines is particularly evident in their distinctive, fine-spicy aromas and elegant minerality. The grapes grown here are grown and marketed by the local wineries or delivered to the Franconian winegrowing community .
