The Errand of Angels is a 2008 drama movie ; one of the films produced by Mormons . The producer and director is Christian Vuissa, who also wrote the script. Erin Chambers can be seen in the lead role . The film is based on the experiences of the Mormon missionary Heidi Johnson in Austria.

Sister Rachel Taylor, of Boise, Idaho, is eager to serve an 18-month mission in Austria. Rachel finds it difficult to get used to the other culture and environment. She also has difficulty getting along with her fellow missionary; often they have differences of opinion. She tries to set an example from the teachings that she spreads in order to finally get along with her colleague, even if different opinions remain about how to proceed.

The film was previewed in a few theaters before it was fully released on January 1, 2008. These screenings included one at the Gloria Film Festival in West Valley City, Utah on July 31, 2008. The film opened on August 22, 2008 in a limited number of theaters. The cost of making the film was approximately $ 160,000 and grossing $ 195,184.

The film was released on DVD on December 2, 2008 .
