The Fibonaccis was an avant-garde music group from Los Angeles , California , founded in 1981 , whose name refers to the Italian mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci .

history

The founding members of the band were Magie Song (vocals, percussion ), John Dentino (keyboards), Joe Berardi (drums, percussion) and Ron Stringer (guitar, bass). Most of the time, the band was inspired by Italian opera. In 1982 she released her first EP Fi-bo-na-chez, which was not a success. The following year the 12 " record Tumor was released with the songs Slow Beautiful Sex and Psycho on the B-side. Tom Corey (bass, mandolin, vocals) was involved as a new band member, who replaced the Stringer, who later left At the request of film director Ted Nicolaou, the group and Richard Band created the soundtrack for the absurd horror comedy TerrorVision . They contributed five songs, including the theme song. The band's favorite themes were science fiction, sex and capitalism. In 1987 they released The Fibonaccis the studio album Civilization and Its Discotheques out. In 1992 the group disbanded after four years of inactivity.
