Richard Band

Richard Band (born December 28, 1953 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American film composer .

Life

Richard Band is the son of film producer Albert Band and brother of film director and producer Charles Band . In 1978 he made his first appearance as a composer for film music and together with Joel Goldsmith he was responsible for the music for Laserkill - Death Rays from Space . To this day he is mainly involved in horror and low budget productions. A large number of the films were produced and / or directed by his brother. His work includes around 100 productions.

He worked several times with the director Stuart Gordon . Their first joint production was Re-Animator from 1985.

Occasionally, the band also works for television. In the late 1990s he composed the music for several episodes of the series Walker, Texas Ranger and Stargate - Kommando SG-1 .

Band was nominated for an Emmy for his music for the episode Dreams In The Witch House of the television series Masters of Horror .
