Castle Freak is a 1994/95 horror film based on an idea by Charles Band and the short story The Outsider by HP Lovecraft , written and directed by Stuart Gordon .

action

An old woman lives with her cat in an old castle. She prepares a plate of food and goes down a dark staircase to give to someone trapped in the dungeon. A little later she dies of old age. The trapped is the son of the old woman who locked him up there when his father left her for another woman.

Traumatized by an accident, John Reilly drives with his wife and blind daughter to Italy to an old castle that he inherited from the old woman (John Reilly and the "Castle Freak" are half-brothers). When they arrive at the castle, one learns that there are marital problems with the Reillys, because not only did the daughter go blind in the accident, but also the son died (The accident occurred because John used to drive a car while drunk ). In the meantime, the Castle Freak has freed himself from the chains by biting off his thumb.

A little later, John has an affair with a prostitute (she speaks no English) who is killed by Castle Freak when he falls into a "coma" while drunk. The police suspect that John killed her and take him to the station. In the meantime, Castle Freak is at home alone with the two women. John manages to escape from the police station and run back to the castle, where he fights with the Castle Freak. Both perish when John falls off the roof with the freak.

John's funeral began. At the end, the prostitute's son is shown with the police.
