Steven Rosenblum is an American film editor .

Life

Steven Rosenblum is a graduate of the American Film Institute Conservatory, a private film school, which he graduated from the camera class in 1976. He began working as an assistant editor in 1980 and was allowed to work as an independent editor for the first time as an independent editor for the 1987 film Asphalt Kid (original title: "Wild Thing"). Since then he has been responsible for editing more than twenty films, including Glory (1989), Dangerous Beauty - The Courtesan of Venice (1998), X-Men (2000), Last Samurai (2003) and Seduced To Undress (2006). He often works with the director Edward Zwick .

Steven Rosenblum has been nominated for an Oscar / Best Editing three times: for Glory (1989), Braveheart (1995) and Blood Diamond (2006). For Glory and Braveheart he won the Eddie Award from the American Cinema Editors (ACE) , of which he is also a member. In 1989 he was awarded an Emmy for his work on the series The Best Years . For his work on The Last Samurai , he and his colleague Victor Du Bois received a Golden Satellite Award . The American Film Institute honored him with the 2011 Franklin J. Schaffner Award .
